Abstract
Cysts of the adrena gland are rare clinical finding. Most of those recorded in medical literature have been small lesions discovered incidentally at autopsy or during surgery for unrelated disease process. However, Cystic diseases of the adrenal gland are being found more frequently nowadays by means of sonography and computer tomography. Our experience of 6 cases is reported. Six cases with adrenal cyst were encountered during a period of three years and were treated successfully with an operation; of these, three proved to be endothelial cysts of two lymphagiomatous and one hemangiomatous origin, two to be pseudocysts and one to be epithelial cyst of secondary cystic change of adrenal adenoma. There were 4 women and 2 men whose age was ranged from 45 to 57 years with a mean age 52 years. They occur on right side in 4 case and left side in 2 cases. The lesion was ranged from 4 to 10cm in diameter. We present herein the diagnosis, treatment, pathologic findings and the review of the literature relative to cysts of the adrenal gland.
